Just took some photos on my Rhodesian Recon Vests (RRV) and here is a mini review on different era RRV.

Starting from the top left one. It’s the earlier gen RRV, there are 2 snap buttons at front side. So when you fold the upper portion, there is a flap to cover the pocket & it will look like Eagle chest rig. The elastic bands are in black color. Buckles are black color National Molding side release. Besides, the waist strap is 1″ with one side release buckle. There is no retention strap on the SAPI compartment.

This is latter gen RRV, the design is just like the commercial version. Buckles are still black color National Molding side release. Cancelled the snap button design and added velcro inside the front pocket. Waist strap changed to 1.5″ with two sides side release. Added the SAPI retention strap.

Another issue version RRV. Basically the same design as the above one. However, the color of the ALICE row is more shiny. Also, the 1.5″ waist side release buckle changed from National Molding to ITW Nexus.

The last one is newer production dated year 2007. All buckles changed to tan color ITW Nexus. And there is a hidden military tag with NSN, contract number and production date.

Cheers~
